ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT

Accessibilty Statement

This portfolio is a reflection of my personal work and values; because inclusivity is central to both, this site has been developed to comply with the international Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards, incorporating additional features that align with Level AAA criteria where feasible. The following measures have been implemented to meet these criteria and ensure that all users can navigate the site
Structural and Navigational Accessibility
• Text Alternatives: Images are accompanied by descriptive text alternatives to ensure equivalent access.
• Landmark Regions: Structural elements, such as banners, menus, and footers, are clearly identified in the source code for improved navigation.
• Headings: Content is organised with a logical heading structure to enhance navigation for screen reader users.
• Keyboard Accessibility: All features of the website can be accessed using a keyboard or similar input devices without requiring a mouse.
• Multiple Navigation Options: Users can navigate the site through the main menu, search functionality, or internal links according to their own needs and preferences.
Cognitive and Mobile Accessibility
• Simplified Interactions: The website avoids overly complex layouts, interactions or language to accommodate users with cognitive or learning impairments.
• Accessible Descriptions: WAI-ARIA attributes and semantic HTML are used to describe the identity, state, and operation of interface elements, supporting assistive technology compatibility.
